Section 60
Withdrawing or withdrawing issued currency
(1) Bank Nepal ……. Bank notes and coins in circulation within the country can be drawn or withdrawn upon request. The Bank shall publish and broadcast a public notice clearly stating the procedures within which days the withdrawn or withdrawn bank notes and coins shall be submitted to the office of the Bank for exchange. Banknotes and coins that have to be deposited after the expiry of the time will not be legally accepted. (3) The bank may wash, cut, tear or destroy in any other way the banknotes and coins drawn from the currency and the currency with errors as prescribed in accordance with sub-section (1).
